My 30th birthday was out of this world. I have to tell you all about it later. It was amazing. I spent it with my husband, my family, close friends and the people that mattered in my life.
To my main celebration at the Ritz Carlton Toronto, I made and wore this cape jumpsuit. It was like 4 days until my party and I had nothing to wear. I headed to the fabric store and saw this floral fabric with a hint of purple. I took it home with no idea of what I would make but inspiration is all around me.
Summer 2015 was all about the cape! I was obessessed with capes and still am. So of course my go to look for my birthday was a cape dress or jumpsuit. I thought a jumpsuit would be more daring, different and fun. So I whipped this jumpsuit up with 3 yards of fabric. Ta da!
To my party, I wore it without a belt. But I styled this jumpsuit differently this time. You can wear the belt two ways over the cape or under the cape. This time, I wanted to pair it with gold tones so I wore a gold belt with my gold Gucci sandals. My Chanel pin is my staple gold piece and works with everything.
The best thing about a cape is twirling, the excess fabric and the movement.
