It’s time. I have been thinking about this for a while. I love looking glamourous and feeling confident but not at the expense of my health. For months now I was thinking of cleaning up my makeup regime. I have so many favorite makeup products but many are toxic and not good for my health in the long run.
I am all about the big picture. Yes, I love these beauty products but as a biochemist I know that the chemicals are harmful to me in the future. But I love them. For the past couple of months I have been looking for options and I think I found one.
100% Pure was created by a Chemist who after picking blueberries noticed the pigments on her skin and thought that it would be cleaner approach to makeup. From that experience alone she developed a collection of makeup, skincare, hair and body care products. I had the priviledge of attending the launch of their Better Naked palette.
I attended the event and my main focus was to learn more about the brand. The room was filled with makeup stations for us to sample and try. I immediately gravitated to the lipsticks. There were so many different colors and the fragrance was so aromatic. They literally smelled like berries. I later found out that they were pigmented with fruit pigments making them less toxic. Very Interesting.
Next up I tried the Better Naked platte and loved the golden and nude hues. After speaking with the CEO of 100% Pure I came to find out glitter and shimmer eyeshadows and highlighters use plastic to create the shimmer. PLASTIC ON MY SKIN ALL DAY LONG. 100% Pure uses rushed gemstones to create the shimmer. Wow. I was super stunned and excited to know that my makeup could become jewellery.
My next thought was to look at the foundations. Unfortunately there wasn’t a shade for my beautiful chocolate skin. Being who I am, I asked about the limited shades but was super estatic to learn that 100% will be releasing 20-30 more shades of foundation and hopefully there will be a shade for me. I shall wait.
I left with a bag of goodies from the 100% Pure collection and fell in love with these products from the line.

Are you thinking of using less toxic makeup?
I am so excited to explore the 100% Pure makeup line.
To the 100% Pure team, thank you for having me.
I love your new perspective on makeup.
All of sudden I have turned into an obsessed beauty product lover. I guess beauty is really becoming my thing. Ironicically I have been attending so many beauty launches and get to share my new fav products with you all.
For years I had what I thought was a skin regime. Ha! Read more about it here. But now I have updated my process to ensure I am thoroughly taking care of my skin. I do wear makeup daily and for special events but I used to wake up the following morning after “cleansing” my skin with a colorful pillow. Shocking. Annoying. Gross. Clearly my face was not being cleansed using my process. I decided to upgrade my skin cleansing process from one step to three. I have now included DHC Skincare’s Olive Concentrated Cleansing oil.
DHC hosted a beautiful lunch at a Dumpling restaurant for the launch of their Olive Concentrated Cleansing Oil. Soo cute right. I never heard about oil cleansing until I attended this event. But I was intrigued. For a few months I have been committed to taking care of my skin especially as I am getting "older" and want to keep my skin tight, right and glowing.
Since I received the product at the event, I have been using the DHC Skincare Olive Concentrated Cleansing Oil daily. It is a part of my three step makeup cleansing process. But you can use it alone as well. When I use the DHC Olive Cleansing oil it feels like silk on my skin and leaves my skin soft and supple.
My Skin Cleansing Regime
The product is so rich and adds moisture to my skin rather than drying it out.
DHC Skincare Olive Cleansing Oil contains :
Vitamin E- Nourishes dry skin and helps fight damage with antioxidants.
Oleic Acid- Locks in moisture for all day hydration.
Olive Fruit oil- Soothes and conditions, while cleansing impurities.
It literally quenched my thirsty skin while fighting free radicals and boosting my skin with antioxidants. Here is the best part, The DHC Skincare Olive Concentrated Cleansing Oil has no parabens, colorants, sulfates, fragrances or mineral oil. Winning.
Now that I have been using DHC Olive Concentrated Oil my skin always feels clean, moisturized and is blemish free because it is completely cleansed. You definitely should try it. Shop the DHC Skincare Olive Concentrated Cleansing Oil and many other DHC skincare Products here.

Here is an sneak peek inside our convo:
How did you first get in to makeup?
My story for getting into makeup is actually out of the ordinary! I originally was dedicated to doing hair and I thought that was my calling. Until my manager at the salon I was working at needed me to help her with a huge makeup job for a bridal party. I ended up helping her and LOVING IT! It felt so right and did not feel like work to me. I started watching YouTube at home, looking up makeup on Pinterest and I fell in love. I haven't stopped doing makeup since!
Tell me about your Biggest achievement?
My biggest achievement is probably being the Product Specialist at MAC. Knowing I was chosen to be in charge of artisty & product launches at my counter was a really a big deal to me. It was a moment! I felt as if everyone had seen how hard I was working and was proud of me too.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My biggest supporter is my mother. My mom will go to the end of the world for anything that involves me and my career. Any makeup look I create, she is right there beside me cheering me on and she is always honest. No matter how much I may not want to hear the truth, she will always find a way to tell me her honest truth and has never led me in the wrong direction.
When you are not doing makeup how do you spend your time?
When I'm not doing makeup... mmm that's hard because I'm either doing makeup or playing in makeup or shopping for makeup 95% of my time! If I'm not doing that I'm probably watching Sex and the City!
Name some of your favorite makeup artists and makeup brands and why?
My favorite makeup artist is Nicole Guerrerio. She's my favorite because her artistry is out of this world and shes so aunthentic. I think alot of people get lost in this industry and will promote and say they love anything to make a dollar. I love that shes authentic and will tell you the real truth on any product she tries. My favorite makeup brand has to be Anastasia Beverly Hills. The products the company produces are always outstanding. I appreciate when a brand puts its heart into its products. The product development is amazing and they manage to stay so in tune with what their customers are asking for and I apperciate that.
With all of the makeup artists out there, what makes you different?
This question is always so tough to answer. It's so hard because there are so many amazing artists. What sets me apart, is my attitude and outlook. I will never say I know EVERYTHING about makeup. It's impossible and I honestly believe a true artist never stops learning. I like to think I'm real too. I would never tell someone a product is good or sell it to them without actually believing that. I'm honest and I always stay true to myself which is extremely hard to find in the industry.
What is your favorite place to shop for makeup?
Oh man... tough question! I would have to say Sephora! I mean so many brands, so many options. You just can't go wrong!
Who is your style icon?
My style icon... has to be Rihanna. Always different and edgy. I love that shes so confident in everything she puts on and you just never know what she'll be wearing next.
Who takes your photos on Instagram?
I am a one woman show! I take all of my pictures on my own! Its not easy but I always make sure I get the best shot.
When are you starting your YouTube channel?
My first YouTube video will be up in November! It's a crazy process yet so exciting! I've been working so hard on content for my YouTube and I can't wait for people to finally see what I've created.
How would you describe your personal style and who is your fashion inspiration ?
My personal style is chic yet comfortable. I'm the most confident when I'm comfortable. I love finding ways to make an oversized shirt look amazing. I love a good vintage shop. I love to turn heads when I have something on that people havent seen in a while! My fashion inspiration... I'm going to say Carli Bybel. She makes comfy and snug clothing look so chic all the time. She accsessorizes so well too. She is amazing.
What will you bring to mschurchdress.com?
I will bring the edgy spunky makeup personality of course! I'm here to help people when they need a honest review on products their unsure about! I'm here to show the world that makeup artists can be informative and honest too! I can't wait to begin this journey with mschurchdress.com!
Welcome Gabriella to the mschurchdress.com team.
I am so happy to have you with us!

Chanel is more that just handbags and clothing. Their makeup is stellar. I initially purchased Chanel makeup last year and since then I have been hooked. I recently picked up a new Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss l and of course I have to tell you all about it.
The Chanel Café was open at Holt Renfrew, a luxury store in Toronto. I went there during my shopping trip with Tuxedo Sergio. We sat in the Chanel Café and looked at all of the new Rouge Coco Gloss collection.
The sales rep kept saying over and over that the lipgloss was infused with coconut oil. In my head I thought, “Yeah right”. But I loved the packaging, the café and the colors, so I purchased not one but two Rouge Coco Glosses. One for me and one for a great friend.
“With Intense Shine, Hydration And An Exquisite Gel-Like Texture, This
Innovative Formula Satisfies All Colour Cravings. In A Palette Of 24
Iridescent, Lacquered Shades, From Sheer To Opaque.” – Chanel.com
I took the Rouge Coco Gloss colour Careese 714, home, I put it in my vanity but didn’t use it for a few weeks. When I eventually used the Rouge Coco Gloss, I immediately could tell the difference between this lipgloss and the other ones I currently own.
First, the Rouge Coco Gloss was highly glossy and not sticky. Yet it glided across my lips with ease. Second, the coconut oil added moisture to my lips. I love juicy, soft lips. The Rouge Coco Gloss made my lips look plump, moisturized and glossy. The coconut oil was definitely there! The sales rep was so right.
Rouge Coco Gloss in Careese is the perfect nude gloss for everyday wear and especially when you have to hop off the plane and head to a meeting. The price point was excellent and was a great value for a Chanel product. I am actually looking forward to owning these other Rouge Coco Gloss colours:
“Wear Rouge Coco Gloss Alone, Mix The Shades Together Or Multiply
The Effects With The Three Colour-Enhancing Top Coats. A Sparkling
Transparent Illuminates, A Yellow-Orange Adds Warmth And A Sheer
Black Intensifies — Just Layer Over Any Shade Of Rouge Coco Gloss Or
Chanel Lipstick For Endless Results.” - Chanel.com
Cheers to reaping the benefits of nourished lips with Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss.
