This post is very exciting for me. As you all and have seen on my social channesl, I am transition to a new home in California. The process has been long and hard but finally it is coming together. Despite the many hurdles, it feels great to be victorious in accomplishing my dreams.
With moving means more design options. Yippeee! This is super fun for me. My new home has been on my mind for months. Questions like....What will it feel like, what will it look like and how I will enjoy it with my husband...have been filling my mind. My new home is open concept, spacious and gives me more freedom to express myself using interior design.
Because it is in California, there are so many forms of inspiration to pull ideas from, implement and interpret. Living in a warmer climate rules out the super wintery interior design and inside the balmy feeling you feel when driving down the coast.
If you have been looking at my instastories, you will see all of the cool interior design books I have been looking at for a source of inspiration. And Pinterest never fails to be sense of inspiration and a great display of cutting edges ideas that make a difference to you interior design dreams.
To design my new home, I searched the internet for photos that really resonate with me and aesthetic. The whole place needs to be designed. Here is a list of all of the rooms:
Walk in closet
The first rooms I will be focusing on are the master bedroom, beauty space and living room. Here are a few of the pictures to give you an idea of what I am going for:
Yes, yes, yes I am on a navy blue wave, timber and a prissy girl vibe. I appreciate the gold and navy blue velvet blend with the incorporation of other metals. It adds a sophisticated appeal with a light feel. I naturally love colour and light but this maybe an issue with my new home. More details to come about this but I accept the challenge. Mixing metals with greenery and print will also be featured in my new home. Let's see how I do this.
My beauty space is dear to my heart. I have always wanted a dedicated space and finally it has come to fruition. I will doing a series on this shortly so keep and eye out for it. I am thinking luxe, luxe, luxe. I want to feel like a Cali queen when I sit down to put on my makeup. Pinterest will be my guide for this project with all of their DIYs.
Living room is a top three space because it is the first space you see when you walk in. It has to be designer early on in the process. I order a bunch of furniture and will get a few accents to accent the ideas I have in mind.
Let’s see what I find on Pinterest tomorrow. Everything may change. You know how it goes. Ha!
At the end of this process, I will have a big reveal of all of the rooms together.
