Do you know what the Fendi Double Fs mean? Karl Lagerfeld himself developed the double Fs and they mean “ Fun Fur”. As a kid the double Fs were so special for me. Whenever I saw someone wearing the double Fs I knew they were wearing Fendi. It is such an iconic symbol of fashion, style and luxury. I just received a Fendi piece and I haven’t shown it to you as yet. My review is coming soon.
Fendi is a fashion pillar and continues to develop and grow. It is still relevant even after all of the years and has young bloggers like me swooning over their collections. Fendi will always be a fav of mine. The quality is amazing and each piece has the history of Fendi weaved into the design.

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the Fendi store and experiencing the Obsession room. Fendi’s monster collection has been a phenomen in the fashion world. The monster design pieces were all super cute. From bags to sweatshirts to handbags, the monster montif was everywere in the Fendi collection. There were even Monster pom pom charms. The Fendi Obsession room was filled with over 200 of these monster Pom Pom and ceiling to floor infinite mirrors. It was like a Fendi art exhibit.
Fendi is a fashion leader and I love its direction, inspiration and design aesthetic.
Thank You Fendi for bringing the Obsession room to San Francisco.
So first of all I do not celebrate Halloween but doesn’t this look, look like Cookie Monster. I honestly wasn’t going for a Cookie Monster look but it just happened. The look I was going for was the perfect Fall uniform … Sweater dresses and Over the Knee (OTK) boots .
OTK boots have a bit of a stigma but they are super warm. They are like sweaters for your legs. When you pair them with a sweater dress you are pretty much all bundled up. In the fall I purchase a great pair of OTK boots and a bunch of sweater dresses and I am all set for the cold. If you don’t want high heels OTK boots get flats. The flat OTK boots are great for Fall as well. You can wear them with jeans, mini skirts or leggings.
Sweater dresses are so easy to wear and style. Throw a sweater dress on with OTK boots or a pair of combat boots and chunky socks. You can wear a belt around your waist or a pair of denim for a more casual look. Sweater dresses are also very slimming and make you look taller. Winning!

This blue sweater dress is bright and fun. The contrast of the blue and the black makes the look pop. I added a skinny belt to add some shape to the sweater dress. The white sunnies really made the Cookie Monster look come to life. These oval frames are the style of the season. If you want to invest in a piece this holiday, get a pair of oval glasses. They are so chic and totally on trend. Once again Tiffany by StylesbyTiffanyDawn did a phenomenal job on my hair.
Who is ready for Fall?
Are you doing to get a sweater dress or two?
DVF popped up in San Francisco and we welcomed her with open arms. The DVF Pop-Up shop was both a store and the art exhibit featuring the historial prints that have made Diane von Furstenberg a global brand.
The DVF Pop-up store was also a collaboration with Levis jeans. So exciting right? DVF X Levis created the denim of my dreams. My favorite design element of the DVF Pop-up was the handprinted denim jeans. Levis jeans became the canvas for DVF fashion art where prints were being layered onto classic denim fabric. Most of all, I loved the bright colors, textures and the DVF brand history. I felt like I was in a fashion blogger’s playland.

Along with the art displays all throughout the studio, there were some gorgeous DVF pieces. DVF has a perfect way of pairing prints. Mixed prints were everywhere in the collection along with great fun furs and black and white booties. There was a blue faux fur jacket . I fell in love with it and need to wear it during NYFW in Feb. San Francisco is way to warm for such a furry jacket. Ha!
DVF is an innovative brand and I also love the impact Diane von Furstenberg has made in the fashion industry. She also empowered so many women be it models, designers or students. Unfortunately, the DVF X Levis Pop up is closed now but it was a treat to have all of this color and creativity in the city.
DVF was kind enough to donate proceeds to charity such as Iridescent, Vital Voices, and the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts as well as those devastated by the Forest Fires in Northen California.
DVF you are a true fashion gem.
Thanks for coming to San Francisco.

After having a long convo with Janelle about joining the team, I learned more about her educational journey, career in the healthcare industry and her favorite fashion spots. Take a glimpse into our convo...
How did you get into the healthcare industry?
My career in health are started out in Toronto, Canada. I was fortunate to have been hired by a community health center where I worked on improving the health of local students and community members.
Tell me about your biggest achievement as an Registered Nurse (RN).
Nursing is my second career. I have been fortunate enough to work with great healthcare providers and nursing staff providing health services to underprivileged adolescents in Columbus, Ohio. I loved the fact that our patients, especially the young ladies trusted us enough to let us provide them with care. You really get to know your patients and develop relationships with them to see their growth.
Who is your biggest supporter?
I think my husband has been my biggest supporter. I’ve been in school for almost our entire relationship. He has always encouraged me to do what I love and cheers me on every step of the way.
When you are not working how do you spend your time?
I’m usually running, working out or taking care of my family. I have a great husband and an adorable 2 year old so I like to spend with them participating in low key activities.
Can you name some of your favorite healthy meals and women's health topics and why?
So I’m really simple (or lazy as some would say) so I can live on black beans and rice or a really big salad. I’ve spent a lot of my career working in the area of young women’s health so I love educating women about contraception options and sexually transmitted infections (STI).
Let's talk about FASHION. What is your favorite place to shop for clothing?
Umm… Children’s Place, Gap, Old Navy. Ha! Since having my daughter I don’t spend as much time or money buying clothes for myself but when I shop I generally stick to GAP, Banana Republic and store swhere items are available online (I’m a lazy shopper). I love visiting thrift stores, this is where I’ve purchased most of my vintage clutch purses.
How would you describe your personal style and is there a person who is a fashion inspiration to you?
I would describe it as a cross between bohemian chick and casual. It really depends on the day and the amount of sleep I had the night before. Ha!
What will you bring to mschurchdress.com?
I think I will be a resource to your readers with regards to dispelling fact from fiction when it comes to information on health, wellness and fitness. I’m honored to share my wealth of training and experience with your readers.
Thank you Janelle for joining the team. We are ready to get our health in check and fitness right. What health and fitness questions do you have for Janelle?
I celebrated my one year anniversary ofliving in San Francisco yesterday. San Francisco is a beautiful place to live. There is so much to do, see and eat. Sigh! This is why I am always in the gym. Ha! More on that to come with our new health and fitness contributor.
I love exploring the the city and visiting places like The Exploratorium. The Exploratorium is a museum in San Francisco which is pretty much an Adult Disneyland. It is a museum filled with exhibits, innovative design and inquisitive concepts. I went to the Exploratorium with my husband for date night. I try to spend one fun filled evening with my husband at least once week. Going to the Exploratorium was a new adventure and we were definitely interested in checking it out.
As I arrived, it was a visual overload. I loved the light show outside( See the picture above). There are over 650 interactive exhibits with new ones being added every week. You honestly cannot get through it all in one night. You need a couple of nights to complete it all. I really enjoyed the The Color Conflicts exhibit ( See picture above) which challenges you to read the names of colours but in fonts in another colour. For example, the word would be green but written in purple font. You would have to say the font color to get a point. AHHH! So difficult but the challenge was fun!
The Language Blocks are so interesting ( See the picture below). With a partner, you each sit at opposite sides of a table with a divider. One person creates a picture using the blocks and then has to describe the picture to the other person for them to create the same image. It sounds easy but its not. It forces you to use descriptive words and really explain the image you want the other person to create.
All of these challenges were so fun and really had my mind working! I really enjoyed the Tactile Dome which is a dome filled with obstacle courses... but inside is pitch black. You have to use your sense of touch to get through them. Honestly I thought I couldn't get through it but with the help of my husband, I did. It was INTENSE. Your sense of touch really kicks in and becomes heightened when you are in the dark. I made it out and it was definitely an experience everyone should have. You need to check it out at the Exploratorium.
