I just opened a store tab on my blog. There you will find products and services I love. Everything is selected based on things I actually wear and things that I actually do in real life. For example, everyone loves the gold sequin clutch that I wear all of the time so I brought a couple in for you to enjoy as well. Sometimes you have may have in-depth questions about buying luxury goods or you may want to bounce an idea off me, you can talk to me one-on- one or in person. All of these products and services are now available on my store.

Okay, okay I know. I have written so many posts about New York Fashion Week but I can’t get enough of the experience. I relive it everyday. To attend the Zac Posen show was a great priviledge and I wanted to put my style at the forefront.
New York Fashion week is the home of bloggers from all of the world and usually they look the same because they are usually sponsored by the same brands. I am all for girl power and sponsored posts, blah blah blah but fashion is about risks, diversity and letting all designers have their fashion moment. hope this season changes for bloggers and for the fashion world. Individuality is key.
I wanted to stand out and I did. I packed six different looks to wear during my 36 hours in New York. Yes I overpacked but a girl’s gotta be ready. I wore four looks during my stay in NYC. Sorry the pictures are not “edited” they are raw and uncut just like my experience during New York Fashion week.

So this love thing. Everyone wants to be in it, around it and celebrate it even when it is not even theirs. What’s that all about? What makes loves so attractive? Why love? Why not happiness or joy? These were a few questions I asked a myself when I was younger.
Now that I have found love, I totally get it. Love is amazing. Love brings joy and it is happiness. Sigh. I could go on and on but would only start sounding more cliché. But love is amazing when done right. When I say done right. I mean done right… based on your personal specifications.
So if you want to be with a person who is educated, when you date a person who is educated, spend time with them and enjoy life with them… that is “ right”. Everyone’s idea of love is different. Once you accept that you are able to appreciate your love more.
I gave love a chance like 12 years ago and it paid off. As I celebrated 4 years of marriage with my lover sitting next to the Mediterranean sea in Spain, in my Diary Beth I wrote,
“For the next year, I promise to be a stronger lover, filled with more love to give”
Right now, next year and for years to come… it is all about love.
New York, New York. I’m back. I returned to New York for New York fashion week and it was a memorable 36 hours in the city. I was so honoured to attend New York Fashion week for the first time and it was an experience to remember. My first NYFW week deserves more than the regular post. So I am going to change it up for this post.
Check out the deets below:
September 12, 2016- Flight and Show Day!
Early Early Morning: My husband dropped me off to the airport after buying endless bread and deli meats like we were expecting a famine. I think he was scared to be alone for the first time in a long time. So he stocked up on sandwich supplies. Ha!
The Nexuss line was crazy like complete insanity. I got in the line and then switched over to the American Express line bypass and was now at the front of a line of about 1,000,000 people. Breezed through security and perched my fashion week self in the lounge.
Morning: The plane ride was fast and I needed the sleep.
Afternoon: Arrived in New York and took a pit stop at the American Express Centurion Lounge for lunch. UBERed to my suite at the Upper West side of New York. Freshened up and prepped for a fun day.
Late Afternoon: Went shopping at Barney’s. Didn’t buy anything but really enjoyed the vintage collection they had displayed. I also saw this red YSL suede heart shaped fringe bag. OMG. It was perfection. Met up with my friend Tuxedo Sergio and Kara Alloway, chatted and shopped some more. We then went our separate ways to get ready to head to the Zac Posen Show
Late Late Afternoon: Took a limo from the Metropolitan Hotel to Spring Studios. Arrived to lines of people waiting to get it in. We were quickly escorted to a specific line. While I was in line:
7:00 pm: Imagine walking into a room with all of your fashion favorites? That is what I couldn’t breathe and totally fan girled. Some of the people in attendance include:
7:30 pm: The show started and the fashion was abundant. The full recap is here.
8:00pm: The show ended.
8:13 pm: I met June Ambrose. The video is on my Instagram
8:30 pm: Headed to dinner at a private, sushi resto which is a fan favorite for fashion peeps, Omen.
9:30 pm: 12:30 am: Downed Sushi, edamame and Sushi rice. Chatted with my friends and sat next to Uma Thurman while she slurped down sushi as well.
1:00 am- 3:00 am: Facetimed with my husband, ate chocolate chip cookies and laughed the night away.
September 13, 2016- Breakfast, Times Square and Auntie Anne's
5:00am: Woke up super early and headed to Times Square with Tuxedo Sergio and had a early, early morning breakfast at Evergreen. I downed two pancakes, two eggs fried hard and three turkey bacon strips.
Mid-Morning: Went to the bank to check my coinz and then walked around Times Square and took photos. Then I waited for Saks Fifth Avenue to open and browsed through the shoe section.
Afternoon: Walked back to my suite in the Upper East Side. Grabbed a coffee. Packed my bag.
Late Afternoon: Headed to the airport. Chilled in the Centurion Lounge. Ate an awesome grilled chicken lunch and fresh raspberry lemonade.
Late Late Afternoon: Walked to my gate and then found out that my flight was delayed. OKAY then.
Late Late Late Afternoon: Waited at the gate and ate my favorite Auntie Anne’s Pretzel bites.
Evening: Finally hopped on the plane.
Late Evening: Arrived in Toronto. Took the UP express( which was really fast and efficient).
Late Late Evening: Went to my bestie’s condo and recapped the whole trip with wings, pizza and frizzy drinks.
New York was a surreal experience. I hope this recap gave you an idea of what 36 fashionable hours in New York looks like.
Yes, we are still talking denim every Monday. I am still in love with and inspired by, all of the denim looks I have seen from a variety of designers. Remember, that you can be featured on the blog if you tag your denim look with #MCDDenim. Try something different with your denim and let me feature it.
Denim and floral prints? A fashion girl’s dream come true. Once again, Gucci has done this soo well this season. The pairing of denim with floral embroidery is a fun element that make denim chic and creative.
Though I love all things Gucci, it is pretty much all sold out. So instead of crying, I decided to do my own thing. I love a good DIY and am always prepared to recreate looks and designs. So I headed to Gap and picked up a simple distressed jean jacket. It was the perfect fit, soft and flexible. So the jacket was an easy find.
Ok, as for the patches, I had to hunt. On Queen and Spadina there are such great little junk sewing stores with all these nick nacks. I picked up a few patches that looked similar to the Gucci ones and decided they would be added to my jacket.
The patches were iron-on but to make sure they stayed on, I used some Gorilla glue to secure the patches to my jean jacket.
After waiting overnight, the jacket was ready. I put it on and my husband re-fell in love with me… I mean with denim jackets. He really liked it and though it looked cool. I still wasn’t convinced but once I stepped foot into Fairview Mall with my floral denim jacket, I knew it was a hit.
Gucci, I love you but you know sometimes you’re sold out. But that worked in my favor. I have a cool jacket with enough flowers for everyone.
