When I received the invite I knew I had to go. I was invited to celebrate the launch of Roberto Cavalli’s home collection. I was in New York and was heading back to Cali but I would do whatever it took to get back to New York the following week to go this launch with my fashion bestie Sergio of Tuxedoserigio.com.
Roberto Cavalli is a classic Italian fashion house with a long legacy. Roberto Cavalli is known for his bold prints, use of chiffon and Italian influence. When you see a dress you just know it is by Roberto Cavalli. There is just something about the design and fabric choice, it screams Roberto Cavalli. I own a few Cavalli dresses and they are some of my favorite dresses. They are standout pieces and reflect my bright, dimensional style. Now, I can add the Roberto Cavalli design inspiration in my home.
The room was filled, not only with people but with the full Roberto Cavalli home collection. The pieces sat on shelves like art. Each piece speaking the Cavalli language with leopard print details etched in gold on plates meant to be layers on your dining room table. As I sat on a velvet mustard couch blinded by the spotlights at the Roberto Cavalli flagship store in New York City, I spoke with the manufacturer of the new Roberto Cavalli home collection. He told me of the level of care taken by the manufacturer to keep the integrity of the Cavalli design while making the pieces strong enough for everyday use. I was reassured the sparkling gold plated flutes, plates and mugs were to be integrated into everyday life. These handcrafted pieces were to be used to hold chicken, champagne and coffee.
The collection includes dishware, cutlery as well as matching bedding. The piece I admired the most was a vase with an archived Roberto Cavalli print. With only 30 made worldwide, they are available only at the New York City location on Madison.
I have been redesigning my East coast home and wanted to add a luxury touch to it. After attending the launch of the Roberto Cavalli Home collection, I am sure I found the pieces I need.
