It’s Monday! My favorite day of the week. It is also OUR style day. Fall is a great time to layer up, take some fashion risks and or really indulge in style. After my last post on how to style a leather mini skirt, I received e-mails with inquiries on wearing skirts in the Fall. I know it sounds odd but wearing a short skirt actually keeps me warmer when worn with boots and great pair of stockings. My fall essentials are all about layering.
Ironically San Francisco hasn’t been extremely cold but I know it will be cooler in a few weeks. When I wore this look for a meeting, the morning started pretty cool and got warmer during the day. This is one of the benefits of layering. You can take something off or put something on depending on the temperatures during the day. Having a coat on hand helps.

In the Fall it is important to have a great coat. MyMax Mara coat has been my go to piece to wear from day to day. In Canada, I would actually put this coat on but in the warmth of SF, it works well over the shoulder . I would add a pair of leggings with this look on cooler days in San Francisco.
The foundation of this look was a snakeskin mini skirt. I then added an army knit sweater and leopard print heels. I have been seeing a lot of waist belts in the collections inNew York and Paris so I pulled this one from the back of my closet and though it added shape to my look.
